If you have a child under 2 or there is a space available, you will be redirected to aa.com. Once you have your boarding pass, you can scan the barcode at security and at the boarding gate.

American Airlines accepts children as young as two days old. If you are traveling with a baby under 7 days old, your doctor will need to complete a passenger health form. Children must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 16. Children under the age of 2 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 16. All wide-body aircraft are equipped with a toilet with a changing table.

Basic Economy customers can carry 1 personal item. Items must be small enough to fit under the seat. Product dimensions must not exceed 18x14x8 inches (45x35x20 cm). All other baggage must also be checked in. Each passenger can take 1 piece of luggage.

The maximum carry-on weight must not exceed:

22 x 14 x 9 inches / 56 x 36 x 23 cm x 23 cm with handle

The dimensions of the luggage must correspond to the dimensions of the luggage at the airport.
