Gavin Sheets is one of the main rewards worth chasing in the latest MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty content. His 99 OVR 2026 Postseason card comes from the Cubs vs. Padres Program, giving players a guaranteed path to a powerful left-handed hitter instead of leaving the reward to pack luck. If you are also working on other roster upgrades, MLB Stubs can help with your broader Diamond Dynasty plans.

Gavin Sheets Card Overview

Sheets is built primarily around his bat. His biggest strength is hitting right-handed pitching, where he has 115 Contact and 125 Power. Against lefties, those numbers drop to 90 Contact and 100 Power, so his matchup should matter when setting your lineup.

His other useful offensive attributes include:

• 86 Vision
• 120 Clutch
• 125 Power vs. RHP
• 100 Power vs. LHP

He also has several hitting quirks, including First-Pitch Hitter, Dead Red, Bad Ball Hitter, Situational Hitter, and Pinch Hitter. These can help in the right situations, but good pitch selection is still more important than relying on quirks alone.

For players who need another power bat, the option to buy MLB Stubs is separate from this program since Sheets himself is earned through gameplay.

How to Unlock 99 OVR Gavin Sheets

Sheets is the 25-point final reward in the Cubs vs. Padres Program. You will also receive two other player rewards along the way.

The main progression rewards are:

• 5 Points: 99 OVR Joe Musgrove
• 10 Points: Ballin' Is a Habit Pack
• 15 Points: 99 OVR Nico Hoerner
• 20 Points: Deluxe Pack
• 25 Points: 99 OVR Gavin Sheets

The program starts with five Moments, worth two points each. Completing all five gives you 10 points, leaving another 15 points to earn through missions.

Complete the Four Missions

The remaining points come from four objectives:

1. 6 hits with Cubs players — 3 points
2. 12 strikeouts with Padres players — 3 points
3. 2,026 Parallel XP with Cubs and/or Padres players — 4 points
4. 2,026 Parallel XP with 2026 Postseason Series players — 5 points

The easiest way to approach the grind is to build one lineup around as many eligible players as possible.

Once you unlock Hoerner, use him to help with the Cubs hit objective. Musgrove can then work toward the Padres strikeout mission. Because both cards are part of the 2026 Postseason Series, they can also contribute to the series-specific Parallel XP requirement.

Best Way to Grind the Program

You can complete the objectives through offline Diamond Dynasty modes, so online wins are not required. Play vs CPU, Conquest, Mini Seasons, and Diamond Quest are all useful choices.

For a simple grind:

• Start with the five Moments.
• Put several Cubs hitters in your lineup.
• Use Padres pitchers whenever you need strikeouts.
• Add Hoerner and Musgrove as soon as they become available.
• Keep 2026 Postseason players active to build Parallel XP.
• Check the card series before starting an objective.

That last point is important. An older Postseason card does not automatically count for a mission requiring the 2026 Postseason Series.

If you are upgrading several positions at once, comparing cheap MLB Stubs options can be useful, but there is no reason to spend currency just to obtain Sheets.

Where Gavin Sheets Fits

Sheets primarily plays first base, with left field and right field as secondary positions. His 72 Fielding and 58 Speed make it clear that his main job is offense rather than covering ground.

First base is the safest place to try him, while designated hitter can also be a strong fit when available. His matchup against right-handed pitchers is where the card should have the biggest impact.

Final Tips

The Cubs vs. Padres Program is a straightforward way to add three useful Postseason cards to your Diamond Dynasty roster. Knock out the Moments first, then combine the team missions with the Parallel XP objectives instead of treating each one as a separate grind.

Once you reach 25 points, 99 OVR Gavin Sheets is yours. He is particularly appealing for players who want a left-handed power option against right-handed pitching. If you are filling the remaining holes in your roster through the marketplace, cheap MLB The Show Stubs for sale can be considered separately from the free program rewards.
