Master GTA 5 Sticky Bombs with U4GM

Plan the Friends Reunited trailer ambush in GTA 5 with smart bomb placement, quiet takedowns, safe positioning, and a clean escape that makes the Gold Medal goals far less painful.

The best way to learn sticky bombs in GTA 5 is to stop treating them like ordinary grenades. You place one, create space, then trigger it on your terms, which makes them perfect for planned destruction in Friends Reunited. That same patience helps in free roam, where extra cash such as buy GTA 5 Money can make resupplying explosives less annoying, but the mission itself gives Trevor what he needs. The key is setting the whole scene before touching the detonator.

First, Learn the Detonation Controls

Equip a sticky bomb, throw it at a trailer or another solid surface, and wait for it to attach. On the default PC layout, press G to detonate it. On a console controller, press Left on the D-pad. This input can feel confusing if another throwable is selected, so check the weapon wheel before you throw. Also, step away first; delayed activation is the entire advantage of this explosive, not a minor convenience.

Friends Reunited Rewards a Quiet Setup

Trevor's trailer-park sequence in Friends Reunited is built around preparation. You need to destroy five trailers, and the Gold Medal target called Perfect Gift asks you to destroy them at the same time. Mystery Gift also asks you to avoid detection, while Headshots requires five accurate eliminations and Unmarked asks you to finish without taking health or armor damage. Those goals overlap nicely: quiet takedowns protect Unmarked, and delayed detonation handles the big objective.

Enter stealth before approaching the first trailer.
Use a silenced firearm only on enemies blocking your route.
Remove key lamps before crossing exposed ground.
Attach each bomb, then leave it alone until all five trailers are marked.
Retreat toward Trevor's truck before pressing the detonation control.

The Route I Use Around the Camp

Start near the western side and deal with the biker by the truck before placing the first bomb. Move around the outside rather than cutting through the camp, then handle the pair near the next trailer and continue toward the northern target. The central trailer has another exposed biker, while the southern section contains two enemies near motorcycles and one more by a truck. From what I've seen, selective headshots are safer than trying to clear every spawn. If you're short on funds for supplies, cheap GTA 5 Money may help with preparation, but it won't replace careful movement.

Sticky Bombs Versus Gunfire

ApproachBest useMain risk
Sticky bombsDestroying every trailer togetherDetonating before the setup is complete
Silenced shotsRemoving enemies and lightsA missed shot can expose Trevor

Gunfire can destroy targets, but it gives you far less control over timing and exposure. The smarter loadout is a silenced weapon for small obstacles and sticky bombs for the trailers. I could be wrong but, in my experience, the biggest mistake is chasing speed after one clean elimination. Slow movement keeps the mission stable, and stability matters more than shaving a few seconds.

Detonate, Then Finish the Drive

Before triggering the bombs, look across the camp and confirm that every trailer has one attached. Walk back toward Trevor's truck or another distant position, then press G on PC or Left on the D-pad on console. A successful simultaneous blast completes Perfect Gift, after which you return to the truck and follow the route with Wade toward Los Santos. If one medal condition fails, replay the mission and focus on that single target instead of changing the whole strategy.
